Norway in a Nutshell

One of the greatest things you can do when in Oslo, is to take the Norway-in-a-Nutshell train ride to a fjord.

At some point the train will stop, then descend into the ends of the fjord's rugged landscape until it gets to this waterfall and everyone gets out to see it, when suddenly out of the mist appears this lady and over the speakers you hear her sing. It's a pretty wonderful scene, albeit a bit corny, but being simple of mind, probably like most people around me, we all seemed to thoroughly enjoy the somewhat mythical experience.

The train keeps descending and finally you are at sea level. Some people, smarter and more experienced, had booked themselved on to Bergen by ship. Me, I still have an excuse to revisit that inviting nation yet again.
